The interview process includes:

- A research and/or teaching seminar presentation (conducted online or in-person)
- A formal in-person interaction with the selection committee, which includes faculty members from IIT Delhi and representatives from IITD Abu Dhabi.
- An online panel committee interview with international committee members
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to provide references and supporting documentation. The interview process may be conducted entirely remotely or in hybrid mode depending on the circumstances. Only candidates who clear the shortlisting are invited for Stage 1, and every subsequent Stage depending on successful assessment by the selection committee at the previous stage.
