Project Description
The mechanical and durability properties of concrete depend on the properties of its microstructure. While most of the current knowledge on modelling microstructural development is limited to ordinary Portland cement, blended cements are most commonly used. In this project, it is proposed to develop models of microstructural development of cement pastes using blended cements that are commonly used today. The models will aim to accurately represent both the solid and the pore-network of the microstructure and help in understanding the mechanical and durability performance of concrete.
